Keeping Warm, Keep Wed

It’s very cold, and very blustery out today. The next 3-4 months will bring winter wedding season, which can be a bit challenging for any bride. I recommend preparing for any weather, and going with the flow. Pick out tights and a sweater to wear with your gown. Tweed suits, hats, and gloves can make any winter groom look quite dapper. Lastly make sure your guests are comfortable with blankets, hot cocoa, fir pits, and outdoor heat lamps. Winter can be a beautiful time as long as you don’t try to fight it. Potted Pretties

A great option for a greener more earth friendly wedding is to do potted plants instead of cut floral arrangements. Obviously this is a certain look, a more GREEN look, a more “Earthy” feel. If you get an in season flower like Lavender (late July) or Mums (fall) or Hydrangeas (winter) they can be really inexpensive, $3-$10 a pot, which makes a great centerpiece! Plus you can plant them, donate them, or give them away to your guests at the end of the night. Check out these other plants that make great LIVE wedding decor. (click photos for source)

Oversized Flowers

I think these huge paper flowers are so cool and fun! If you love color, and want to make a huge statement, make these! I’ve only ever seen them in Anthropologie stores, but I would LOVE to see some at one of our summer weddings. What do you think of this trend? (click photos for source)
