Potted Pretties

A great option for a greener more earth friendly wedding is to do potted plants instead of cut floral arrangements. Obviously this is a certain look, a more GREEN look, a more “Earthy” feel. If you get an in season flower like Lavender (late July) or Mums (fall) or Hydrangeas (winter) they can be really inexpensive, $3-$10 a pot, which makes a great centerpiece! Plus you can plant them, donate them, or give them away to your guests at the end of the night. Check out these other plants that make great LIVE wedding decor. (click photos for source)

Around Your Neck

I went to a wedding this weekend where both the bride and groom sported some pretty snazzy accessories. All of the bridesmaids wore gold dresses with bold turquoise jewelry like this, the bride wore gold/champagne pearls, and all of the grooms(men) wore ties from this Etsy shop in blue and copper. Isn’t this a beautiful couple?

Statement necklaces are very in style right now, and I LOVE them. Personally I’m not very good at accessorizing, but with a big bold necklace, it can be really simple, and chic! I kind of wish I had worn a bright bold necklace on my wedding day. I also know this beautiful couple below! Check out Tricia’s STUNNER of a necklace (I’m pretty sure it was J.Crew)…love! Newsprint Nuptials

Newspaper! Seriously, so cute, so smart, and sooooo cheap! It looks good against any color scheme. It looks modern or rustic, vintage or new! You can fold it, hang it, decoupage it. It can be used for invitations, place cards, or just a photo prop. Looking back I SO wish I would have bought a newspaper from the day we got married! Mom, remind me to buy newspapers on the day each of my children are born (I’m all sorts of sentimental like that), I wonder if you can call up a newspaper company and order past issues. hmmm, one year is the PAPER ANNIVERSARY!
